Student Success Day is Tuesday, February 9, 2021

Tuesday, February 9, 2021

Student Success Day is a conference-style event hosted by LSC each semester to support your academic and personal success. Sessions are offered by faculty and staff at LSC and at area businesses, non-profits, and 4-year institutions.

What do I do during Student Success Day?

  • Explore topics and activities to support your success.
  • Participate in sessions that promote personal, career, financial, leadership, and educational skill building.
  • Make connections with other students, staff, and faculty.
  • Reach out to campus services like advising, counseling, tutoring, and more.

What will the format be this semester?

Most sessions will be presented via Zoom. Multiple session will run concurrently during the session times, and students are free to move between Zoom rooms. There will also be limited face-to-face, socially distanced sessions. View the schedule.

Suggestions to get the most out of your Student Success Day:

  • Plan ahead so you can enjoy your day. Most sessions are 50 minutes, and while some sessions are repeated, many are not.
  • If you have questions, talk to your instructors or advisors.
  • Ask your instructors if they offer extra credit for attending sessions.
  • Make appointments to connect with your instructors during the day – see how you are doing in each of your classes. Find out what you can do to improve.
  • If you plan to attend an on-campus session, bring your laptop or find a campus location to connect to Zoom so you can attend virtual sessions either before or after.

NOTE: Day classes are canceled; evening classes will begin at 4:00 p.m.

Individuals with disabilities may request reasonable accommodations by contacting LSC’s Disability Services at (218) 733-7650 or georgia.robillard@lsc.edu.
